An entry-level Production Assistant role at Hurst Press, which specialises in non-fiction across history, politics, sociology, war studies and religion, with particular strengths in African, Asian, East European, and Middle East Studies.

You'll report to the Production Director and will play an essential role at every stage of production, assisting on both general-interest and academic books. You'll also gain insight into Editorial, Sales & Marketing and Publicity, working closely with those colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include author management, checking and marking up proofs, liaising with production partners, commissioning maps to illustrate books, managing eBook files and marketing assets, commissioning cover designs for press review copies, and text production for paperback editions.

You'll need to have an interest in global current affairs, along with excellent writing, organisation and intepersonal skills, and a good eye for detail.
